The SSC Junior Engineer (JE) 2024 Exam consists of two stages: Paper-I and Paper-II, both conducted in a Computer Based Examination format. The details of each paper are as follows:
Paper-I: Computer Based Examination
Subjects:
- General Intelligence and Reasoning: This section tests the logical reasoning and problem-solving ability of the candidate.
- General Awareness: This section assesses the general knowledge of current events and various topics including history, culture, geography, and the economic scene.
- General Engineering:
- Part-A: Civil & Structural Engineering
- Part-B: Electrical Engineering
- Part-C: Mechanical Engineering Candidates can choose the engineering stream relevant to their educational background.
Total Marks:
- General Intelligence & Reasoning: 50 questions for 50 marks.
- General Awareness: 50 questions for 50 marks.
- General Engineering (Part A/B/C): 100 questions for 100 marks.
Duration:
- 2 hours (For candidates eligible for a scribe, the duration is extended to 2 hours and 40 minutes).
Negative Marking:
- There will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer in Paper-I.
Paper-II: Computer Based Examination
Subject: General Engineering
- Part-A: Civil & Structural Engineering
- Part-B: Electrical Engineering
- Part-C: Mechanical Engineering
Total Marks: 100 questions for 300 marks.
Duration:
- 2 hours (For candidates eligible for a scribe, the duration is extended to 2 hours and 40 minutes).
Negative Marking:
- There will be a negative marking of one (1) mark for each wrong answer in Paper-II.
