On 23rd September 2024, Honorable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, M.K. Stalin, issued appointment orders to 5 Assistant Engineers of the Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board (TNPCB). The engineers are part of the 48 candidates selected through the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission. They will play a crucial role in monitoring air and water pollution, inspecting industrial compliance, and enforcing pollution control measures.
Since 2021, the TNPCB has been strengthening its workforce by appointing 167 professionals, including environmental scientists, field assistants, and engineers, to support the state’s commitment to environmental sustainability. These newly appointed engineers will ensure adherence to pollution control standards and actively contribute to safeguarding Tamil Nadu's environmental health.
The event was attended by Honorable Ministers Mr. Siva V. Meyyanathan and Dr. Ma. Subramanian, Chief Secretary Mr. N. Muruganandam, IAS, Environment Secretary Mr. P. Senthil Kumar, IAS, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests Mr. Vijayendra Singh Malik, and other senior officials.
