The recent Road Inspector Recruitment in the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department highlighted an interesting yet concerning trend. Despite 957 vacancies, only 931 ITI-qualified candidates attended the exam held on 07/05/2023, leaving vacancies unfilled. Surprisingly, BE graduates—though better qualified—were deemed ineligible for this post.
Why BE Graduates Should Be Considered
- Enhanced Expertise: BE graduates bring advanced technical knowledge that can elevate the quality of public infrastructure projects.
- Unutilized Talent: With limited job opportunities, excluding BE graduates denies them a fair chance while leaving vacancies unfilled.
- Vacancy Gap: Allowing BE candidates to apply could have easily addressed the shortfall, ensuring no positions remained vacant.
A Call for Inclusivity
The exclusion of BE graduates reflects outdated hiring practices. Recruitment policies should adapt to include candidates with higher qualifications, enabling a more skilled workforce while ensuring fairness for all applicants. Tamil Nadu’s progress deserves no less.
Let’s strive for a system where merit and skill matter most, creating opportunities for all who are willing and capable.
