Tamil Nadu Government Appoints 246 Assistant Engineers Across Key Departments

The Honorable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Mr. M.K. Stalin, presided over a significant appointment ceremony today, issuing orders to 246 newly selected Assistant Engineers. These appointments are a result of the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission’s (TNPSC) Combined Engineering Services Examination (CESE), which was announced on October 13, 2023.

The newly appointed engineers will serve across various critical departments within Tamil Nadu, including:

  • Tamil Nadu Water Supply and Drainage Board - 96 engineers
  • Public Works Department - 42 engineers
  • Highways and Minor Ports Department - 52 engineers
  • Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Department - 18 engineers
  • Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (TANGEDCO) - 38 engineers

During the ceremony at the Secretariat, the Chief Minister personally handed over appointment orders to 20 engineers, symbolizing the government’s commitment to strengthening public infrastructure and services through the contribution of skilled engineering professionals.

The event was attended by several prominent officials, including the Minister for Municipal Administration and Water Supply, the Minister for Electricity, Prohibition, and Excise, as well as Secretaries from various departments.

These appointments mark a significant step in advancing Tamil Nadu’s infrastructure development and public welfare projects, empowering skilled engineers to contribute to the state’s growth and sustainability goals.
