TNPSC AE EXAM PATTERN

#### Paper I

 

1. Part A: Tamil Eligibility Test

   - Standard: SSLC (Secondary School Leaving Certificate)

   - Number of Questions: 100

   - Duration: 3 hours

   - Maximum Marks: 150

   - Minimum Qualifying Marks:

     - SCs, SC(A)s, STs, MBCs/DCs, BC(OBCM)s, and BCMs: 60 marks

     - Others: 60 marks

   - Type of Examination: Objective

   - Mode of Examination: OMR (Optical Mark Recognition)

 

2. Part B

   - (i) General Studies

     - Standard: Degree level

     - Number of Questions: 75

     - Duration: Combined with Paper I (3 hours)

     - Maximum Marks: 150

     - Minimum Qualifying Marks:

       - SCs, SC(A)s, STs, MBCs/DCs, BC(OBCM)s, and BCMs: 135 marks

       - Others: 180 marks

     - Type of Examination: Objective

     - Mode of Examination: OMR

 

   - (ii) Aptitude and Mental Ability Test

     - Standard: SSLC (Secondary School Leaving Certificate)

     - Number of Questions: 25

     - Duration: Combined with Paper I (3 hours)

     - Maximum Marks: 150

     - Minimum Qualifying Marks: Same as above 

#### Paper II: Subject Paper

   - Standard: Degree / PG Degree level

   - Number of Questions: 200

   - Duration: 3 hours

   - Maximum Marks: 300

   - Minimum Qualifying Marks: Combined with Part B of Paper I (Total of 450 marks)

     - SCs, SC(A)s, STs, MBCs/DCs, BC(OBCM)s, and BCMs: 135 marks

     - Others: 180 marks

   - Type of Examination: Computer Based Test (CBT)

 

#### Total Marks for Paper I (Part B) and Paper II

   - Total Marks: 450

 

#### Important Notes:

   - Others: Candidates not belonging to SCs, SC(A)s, STs, MBCs/DCs, BC(OBCM)s, and BCMs.

   - OMR: Optical Mark Recognition, a paper-based exam mode.

   - CBT: Computer Based Test, an online exam mode.
